Owner Surrender
It is our goal to assist you in finding a way to keep your beloved pet, however if no solution can be found we are here to assist in finding it a new home. Unfortunately because there are so many animals in need of rescuing sometimes we have to turn some away. We do not like to do this! To assist us in helping your animal find an excellent home we may ask that you continue to house the animal until an appropriate home can be found or we may have to refer you to other rescue groups.
Before surrendering your animal to our group we ask that you bring it up to date on shots (DHLPP, intranasal Bordatella & Rabies), perform a heart worm test, and that the animal be spayed or neutered. If you are unable to then contact us and we will see what arrangements can be made. A donation would be appreciated.
Shelter dogs, abandoned/injured dogs take priority over owned dogs. LMAR will accept owned dogs only when space allows. When you fill out the Owner Surrender form below please fill out as much information about the animal as you can to help us place him in the appropriate home. Please be sure to read the contract carefully because you are surrending all rights to the dog.
We can do a courtesy listing of your dog for you if we do not have a space available. We require that the animal be up to date on shots, spay/neutered, and on heartworm prevention. We will require proof of the medical before a posting goes on the website. We will need a photo, a write up on the dog and your contact information. We will not be responsible for guaranteeing the health or personality of the dog; the placement will be up to the owner and potential adoptor. This is not an avenue to “sell your dog” and we ask that a donation be made to this rescue organization for our assistance in placement. All listings are at the discretion of Lost Mittens Animal Rescue and may be removed at any time without notice. Email info@lostmittens.com for more information about courtesy listings.
